A Message From Our President

Greetings!  My name is Earl D. McNair.  I am the newly elected president of the Hampton Roads Crime Prevention Association.  I am a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist with the Newport News Police Department where I am assigned to the Special Operations Administrative Division. Please look at the meeting dates and put them on your calendar.  We meet the last Wednesday of the month. The locations will vary from the South Side to the Peninsula every other month.  Currently, we are meeting at Frank Beamers American Grill in Hampton and Cagney’s Restaurant in Norfolk. If your agency is hosting a crime prevention event let us know so we can advertize it in our newsletter and come out to assist you.  If you have any questions about the Hampton Roads Crime Prevention Association please don’t hesitate to email or call me.  If you know a speaker that would be good for the meeting contact the Vice-President Steven Duke to set them up for a presentation to the general body.

President's Biography

This will be my second term as President of the Hampton Roads Crime Prevention Association. I started my law enforcement career with the Hampton Police Division in 1994. In 1997 I joined the Newport News Police Department where I was assigned as a beat patrol officer. After working several years in the southern and northern districts of the city, I developed a passion for crime prevention after attending a Neighborhood Watch meeting with a fellow Community Recourse Officer (CRO). In 1991 I was selected as the new CRO for North Precinct Station over several other candidates.  Since then I have become a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist, taught many crime prevention classes to citizens and groups and served three terms as a board member of the Virginia Crime Prevention Association (VCPA). My goal is to make this organization the best of the five regions in the state when it comes to training and support.
